Week in Review<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Monday, December 30, 2019<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wow! What a day today was. This morning, as we congregated\nand began to settle in for Toastmasters, Greg P. (a.k.a. Flower) gave us\ninspiring words of encouragement by letting us know how he personally felt\nabout our direction and the instruction we had been receiving. Then we were hit\nwith the infamous \u201cheart check\u201d \u2013 writing assignments that will keep us busy\nuntil next year, literally. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As we look back, we can see our outlook has changed these\npast several months. We can be proud that today we took this large homework assignment\nand accepted it with wisdom. Writing the same thing repeatedly may have seemed\nbeneath us four months ago, but today we know and understand that everything in\nPEP is for our future, minds and families. We can only grow stronger inside as\nwe realize our collective power when we tell each other how this is easy for\nus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are Spring \u201920. We have grown close these past few\nmonths and are now solid. PEP graduates, who sometimes smile inside at our\nstruggles, only do so because they see that we are indeed committed to service\nin love as they encourage us to succeed. Spring \u201920 says, \u201cThank you,\nbrothers.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tuesday, December 31, 2019<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today was a busy morning for sure. A lot of us were practicing\nour elevator pitches for an event we have coming up next week. We are all very\nexcited for this upcoming event, as we will get tons of great feedback for our\nbusiness ideas from PEP\u2019s executive volunteers. We were also busy this morning\nworking on assignments designed to expand our knowledge on owning and operating\nour own businesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After eating lunch, we were called to the PEP classroom for\nsome very interesting PowerPoint presentations on writing our mission\nstatements, a very important part of any business design. Afterwards, we\nwatched an inspiring movie called Overcomer<\/em>.\nIt was great, and we really enjoyed it along with the message.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After eating dinner, we returned to our dorm to finish our\nassignments. In the dorm, we had a talent show. Songs were performed as well as\nstand-up comedy. It was a treat that definitely helped us relax after an\neventful and busy day. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wednesday, January 1, 2020<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today we not only woke up to a new day, but we woke up to a\nbrand new year and a day off from class. However, we still worked all day\nwriting our heart check homework, studying for tests, practicing our elevator\npitches and writing our business plans. What a great way to start off the new\nyear for the \u201cVisionaries of Spring 20\/20.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are beginning to see that this program is more than just\na program \u2013 it is a way of life. We must stay focused and continue working on\nbuilding our character as we feed our minds with new knowledge and wisdom\nlearned from all the hard work and studying that we indulge ourselves in. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our course is set and\nour compass is true,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thursday, January 2, 2020<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today\nwe pushed forward, making lemonade out of the lemons we were recently given, a.k.a.\n\u201cheart check\u201d homework: lots of writing, lots of paper and lots of ink. Endeavoring\nto persevere is an excellent way to approach our homework assignment. Now that it\u2019s\nThursday, there seems to be some light at the end of the tunnel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are\nall pumped up, looking forward to next week\u2019s business pitches, rehearsing\ndaily as well as studying for our weekly test. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Friday, January 3, 2020<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today\nplayed out to be an exhausting, challenging, eventful and satisfying day for\nthe Class of Spring \u201920. We began today by being entertained, educated and\ntested by Ledarion H. (a.k.a. \u201cReese\u2019s Pieces\u201d), our Living in the Village<\/em> instructor. Ledarion H. can always be counted\non for supplying Spring \u201820 with laughs, lots of actionable financial advice\nand facts, as well as an arduous test to ascertain whether we were paying\nattention and absorbing what intel he taught.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\nsecond half of our enthralling day included a much-needed, motivational,\nspot-on, rousing speech by one of our illustrious commanders, Pat M. (a.k.a. \u201cPrecious\u201d).\nAs always, Pat M.\u2019s speech successfully served to encourage us to press on and\nkeep up the good work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our\nday concluded with another enjoyable \u2013 if not somewhat appropriately humorous\nand highly informative \u2013 teaching of entrepreneurship by Jose C. Not to be\nforgotten or go unmentioned is another one of Jose C.\u2019s extremely onerous\ntests. Jose C. certainly makes sure that we all know and understand the fine\nart of entrepreneurship, including the theory behind what he teaches us.    <\/p>\n\n\n\n
