Today was a great day in Toastmasters. We continue to learn more and more every Monday about how to speak effectively in public. Toastmasters is a great class and has a powerful way of breaking us out of our comfort zones, while strengthening our abilities so we can speak properly. We continue to help each other sharpen our skills. We received another assignment on Economics of One Unit (EOUs), and it\u2019s a blessing to see all the brothers help each other. So yes, we look forward to learning more and more as we get closer to the finish line.<\/p>\n
Raphiel B. (a.k.a. \u201cEnergizer Bunny\u201d)<\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Today, since we didn\u2019t have class, we had the day to study our Economics of One Unit (EOUs) assignments. Meanwhile, some of us helped out our Fall \u201918 brothers prepare for class, which will begin in March. We can\u2019t wait to go through the first character phase with them \u2013 go, Leadership Academy!<\/p>\n Kevin B. (a.k.a. \u201cSay Cheese\u201d)<\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n We started off today by praying in and reading the daily devotional. We also had a birthday boy, Alejandro A.\u2014happy birthday, brother! The lesson began with Bert S. telling us that if you build a successful business, then later on you can sell the business, so you can spend more time with family or pursue another venture.<\/p>\n Our lesson for today covered revenue models for the Economics of One Unit. Bert S. was really breaking down the curriculum and explaining it in such a way that all of us were able to understand. At the end, we read and discussed a Wall Street Journal<\/em> article that had relevance to what we learned today.<\/p>\n Miguel C. (a.k.a. \u201cApoo\u201d)<\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Today was a study day for the class of Spring \u201918. Tomorrow we will have a test on Living in the Village,<\/em> covering chapters four and five. Some of us will be focusing on our Economics of One Unit (EOUs), because we have a big test next week. Whatever the case may be, we are being diligent in the small things, so we can continue down the road of success. We are also very happy that Bert S. was able to bless us with a review of our study materials so we didn\u2019t have to get called out today. We now have a better understanding of the science behind EOUs. Continue to march forward, Spring \u201918, for we are at war, fighting for our future and our freedom.<\/p>\n Charles H. (a.k.a. \u201cLollipop\u201d)<\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Today we were called to the PEP classroom for a guest speaker, PEP Family Liaison Theresa B. Then we had a few pray-outs to do for some of our brothers who are going home. We didn\u2019t have Living in the Village<\/em> because of our guest, so we finished off the day\u2019s activities with a \u201cBlack History Event,\u201d which was a complete success thanks to our Counselor and the rest of the MTC staff. However, when situations would hit the roof, all of a sudden that front would shatter and their true character would be exposed.<\/p>\n What\u2019s crazy is that those same principles apply to people in the business world, and everywhere else for that matter. So many people want responsibilities and titles of leadership, but don\u2019t want to accept all that it entails. People want the fame, without the struggles that come with it. However, life doesn\u2019t work that way. You determine the measure of an individual by how they react when given power or how they react when faced with struggles.<\/p>\n Find something you want to be in this world and stand unwaveringly behind it. Make sure your heart is with you, because there will come a day when your character will be tested, so be the person who is found to be true and not a pretender.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Michael G.
