Our objective was to practice our elevator pitches and share feedback as a class, which was inspiring, educational and fun. Bert S.’s lecture focused on topics like being personal, truthful, knowing your customers and being specific so everyone understands your idea. It was inspiring how my classmates expressed positive feedback along with supportive, personal experiences that helped others improve their own pitches. It was a true demonstration of servant-leader mentality with “…the overriding responsibilities to be of service to others.”

Lauro S. After we had the chance to express our questions and concerns, we watched a few clips about elevator pitches to help us with our own presentations, which we will present next weekend. Harvey M. came in and talked to us about one of our 10 Driving Values: Fresh Start Outlook. We were released for chow to go eat, then we returned to the PEP classroom to listen to our second guest speaker Kristie W. She spoke on Servant-Leader Mentality (another one of our 10 Driving Values). Overall, it was a very productive day for the Soldiers of Spring ‘18 class.

Mark S.
