Week in Review
Monday, January 13, 2020
Today we learned an amazing lesson when it comes to public speaking in Toastmasters International. We are practicing becoming better public speakers and are expected to meet certain criteria in order to be effective. We are currently working on Project Two, and our objective is to give a four to seven minute speech that contains an opening, body and conclusion.
Overall, today’s class went well, and all five speakers qualified for Project Three. Our class has been monumental. We are learning how to define our goals clearly and in an organized manner.
Today has been another success for the Visionaries of Spring 20/20. We have become a family and support each other every step of the way. We are grateful for this and the fact that PEP continues to encourage us to succeed.

Today in the computer lab, we studied Excel, a spreadsheet program. A spreadsheet is an electronic document that stores various types of information. Excel is used mainly for storing and calculating financial data, but it has other uses as well.
We also learned about how to give a PowerPoint presentation, which is a collection of data and information that we can then deliver to a specific audience. We often use it for simpler things, such as business cards and logos.
In the second half of our class, we had a presentation on the Economics of One Unit (EOUs). EOUs show the profitability of one unit of our business. The class as a whole was so excited to learn about this information. The presentation was awesome and brotherly love was in the atmosphere!

What an eventful day today has been. We started our morning with a pray-out for one of our brothers who has been granted parole. It feels good to see our brothers go home. Afterwards, we had just enough time to drink some coffee and do some last-minute studying for the upcoming test.
After lunch, the Visionaries of Spring 20/20 reported to the PEP classroom. Tim H. graced us with his presence and offered omnipotent wisdom when it comes to handling financial statements. Those who did not completely understand the subject most definitely got a better grasp of it today. Overall, today was a good day and we all gained insight on our upcoming projects.

We would like to start by saying “Thank God.” We woke up to another wonderful day. At 8:30 a.m. we headed down the hallway to our computer lab class. We are truly blessed to have Servant-Leaders such as Scottie B. (a.k.a. Banana Split) to help guide us through our lessons.
We finished up all of our Lesson Nine packet, and now we are on to our Excel lessons. It’s exciting to get the opportunity to sharpen our computer skills here at PEP. We understand the knowledge we are receiving from our computer lab class will only advance our entrepreneurship skills.
The fact that PEP is providing us with endless information, skills and the knowledge to become successful entrepreneurs says wonders about the PEP organization. We are always grateful for their priceless time and efforts. Thank you for everything, PEP.

The Visionaries of Spring 20/20 had our earliest call-out to class all week. We all made it in, some of us still half asleep, but ready to start the day off. A few changes for the day, we were all surprised to find out that our Living in the Village instructor Ledarion H. (a.k.a. Reese’s Pieces) was moved to another unit. We will now be taught by none other than Michael M. (a.k.a. Jim Adler, The Texas Hammer).
With this change we were also pleasantly surprised to learn that our usual one test was changed into two tests. Luckily, we’ve all become accustomed to the occasional unpredictability of PEP and took it in stride, and doing well with it at that. Despite all of the obstacles and surprises, we all made it through another day successfully.

Come to terms with the apparent nature of reality. Analyze current circumstances. What is permanent, and what is temporary? Some say that only the present exists and the future is unreal. If you can’t take hold of the future, the future will take hold of you. Don’t be scared to make goals and achieve. Don’t be a statistic. Man cannot tell you that you are unrealistic because you are equipped with an intricate wit that is uniquely exquisite. Your past does not deserve a visit because your future has no limit. Have an insurmountable amount of passion to deposit greatness into life’s account. Only then will you find wisdom and understanding. Stay humble.
