Week in Review

Today during Toastmasters, we were pleased to see one another in positive and outgoing moods as we practiced formal speaking. We practice in front of an audience to improve our speaking skills so we can learn how best to convey our thoughts to executives or employers.
By doing this, our speaking skills are becoming clearer, more concise and proper. Skills acquired here will ultimately enable us to land that perfect job or attain financial assistance required for starting our own businesses.

“Spring ’20 turnout!” We got called out today to practice our business plan pitches. It’s always exciting to get called out, because every experience in PEP is a surprise. It truly was a blessing to watch each other overcome the fear and nervousness of public speaking.
We, the Visionaries of Spring 20/20, are staying focused to the mission at hand to become a generation of innovative entrepreneurs. We will stay focused to finish strong.

Today was a very busy day for Spring ’20. In the morning, we were shown an informative PowerPoint presentation on how to plan our business brochures, as well as how to design our marketing strategy for our business plans. All of the pieces are coming together, and it is clear that everyone is growing as individuals and potential entrepreneurs.
In the afternoon, we attended Entrepreneurship Class, which is taught by Jose C., who might arguably be one of Spring ’20’s favorite teachers due to his quick wit, sense of humor and undisputed business know-how. We reviewed Chapter 11, which gave us a better understanding of marketing, and then we took a test on the previous chapter.

Today we practiced our business pitches in front of the class in preparation for the event on Friday. Everyone has come a long way.
Many people have never had to speak in front of a large group before. Everyone is putting in his best effort. It will be great to see our practice pay off later this week.

Holy Mackerel! We jumpstarted our day with a test from our Living in the Village books. Afterwards, we started reviewing for the next exam. After seeing our test scores and the homework that comes with a failing grade, we were motivated to study.
After all that, we prepared to have our executive volunteers listen to our pitches! All the brothers greeted them with open hearts and the respect they deserve. It was a superb experience for us. We remain committed to what we’ve undertaken.

Odometers record distance travelled by a vehicle. A speedometer is a gauge that measures and displays the instantaneous speed of a vehicle. I’m trying to be what I’m destined to be. That’s why, every day, I look at how far I have come rather than how fast I am getting to where I am going. I can travel a certain distance at any speed and get there one day. Remember the tortoise and the hare?
Accomplishing a goal never loses its value. Time is in our hands, and life is not a race.
