Week 7

Week in Review

Monday February 11, 2019

It is another beautiful day on God’s green earth, and we are grateful to be alive. We had Toastmasters today, our public speaking class.  Our public speaking skills have really improved. We are learning how to communicate professionally in a business atmosphere.

PEP is an awesome program, and it has a lot of benefits.  If one applies the information this program teaches to one’s life, one will prosper and enjoy the fruits of his labor.

We are constantly motivating and encouraging each other to move forward in all areas of the program. Sometimes it gets a little challenging, but nothing that comes easy is worth having. At the end, all the hard work will pay off.

Tuesday morning at 7: 20 am, we heard the call to battle.  A voice came over the intercom saying “Spring ’19, report to the PEP classroom.” We lined up at the door, ready for war.

We marched down the hall and entered the PEP classroom. Our leader today was Shawn G., who did an outstanding job teaching us the Economics of One Unit. Next Wednesday, we will have a test on this material, putting our skills to the test. We will add, subtract, multiply, divide … and conquer!  We are the Conquerors of Spring ’19!

We, the Conquerors of Spring ’19, were up and ready for computer lab this morning. We are learning Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. This class is a blessing. Many of us did not know anything about computers or their programs before we took this class.

We will continue to have Toastmasters every Monday. This is a new challenge for most of us because of the fear of speaking in public. Toastmasters is one of many tools that PEP is providing us. These tools will help us become authentic businessmen.

We are PEP, and we live by our 10 Driving Values. We will lead with a Servant-Leader mentality, for we are united by brotherly love. If one falls, we will pick him back up. We are PEP, and we “live between the wings”!

We showed some love and shared some positive words during pray-outs this morning. It is inspiring to see these men who are about to go home and still applying PEP’s 10 Driving Values to their lives.

Our numbers grow smaller by the day, and there is a bond forming between brothers. It is the kind of bond that comes from having gone through the fire together, and our brotherhood is becoming stronger week by week. Last week, we leaned on each other in preparation for our Venture Capital Panel event. This week, you can find us in small groups discussing word problems as we learn about the Economics of One Unit.

Many of those in the next class arrived this week, and all eyes are on the Conquerors of Spring ’19. A lot of us have stepped into leadership roles in our dorms, and still others have admirably volunteered to share their knowledge and experience as Servant-Leaders for the Fall ’19 Leadership Academy class.

Today started off as any other day. We woke up around 7 a.m. waiting to be called down to the PEP classroom. We were given a lecture on Chapters Eight and Nine from our Living in the Village textbook. This class provides insights about financial literacy.

Fall ’19 was called to the PEP room for a big PEP welcome. This welcome included a “heart check,” which consisted of writing the whole PEP study guide in four days. This is a lot of homework, and it will separate those who really want to change from those who are just going through the motions. Welcome to the PEP revolution!

“People who are important think about others. People who think they are important think about themselves.”

~Unknown

We have started to live in a “me first” society, so everyone is looking out for themselves. People walk around with a sense of self-importance that rots the environment. Problems do not get solved because everyone is only concerned about personal problems. Important people do not think that way because they know they possess a voice that will not go unheard. They know they have the power to better others’ lives and conditions. To be important is to realize all human beings are important. All of our lives have meaning, and we all have goals and dreams. You are important, but so is everybody else.
